Why We Provide Information About Abortion

At Pathways, our mission is simple: to equip women and couples to choose life, point people to Jesus Christ, and demonstrate His love to everyone who comes to us.

Some people have asked why our website includes information about abortion. Because we are a pro-life ministry, they wonder whether discussing abortion procedures, risks, and alternatives sends the wrong message. We believe the opposite is true.

bible verses

Truth Brings Darkness Into the Light

Scripture calls believers to expose darkness with truth, not ignore it.

“Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” — Ephesians 5:11

We cannot expose what we refuse to discuss. If abortion is one of the greatest moral and spiritual issues facing women and families today, then we should not be silent about it. We believe women deserve honest, factual information about abortion, its potential risks, its impact, and the alternatives available to them.

Providing information is not the same as endorsing a choice. Rather, it is an opportunity to bring truth into the light.

Truth that abortion is harmful to babies, women and men. Truth that there are people who care and will provide support. Truth that she and her baby are precious to God.

The Bible consistently calls God’s people to walk in truth:

“Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor.” — Ephesians 4:25

“The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” — Proverbs 12:22

As followers of Christ, we believe honesty is always better than manipulation, omission, or deception.

We Serve As We Are Called and Trust God with The Outcomes

We do not fear that the abortion information we share will encourage someone to choose it. The information we share always reveals the demonstrable harms of abortion and affirms the choice of life.

We faithfully answer our calling to love in deed and truth (1 John 3:18), to equip women and couples to choose life and to share the gospel of Jesus. When it comes to outcomes, we trust our God, who led us to repentance and faith in Christ, to work in the hearts and minds of those we serve.Matthew 5:16 tells us In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

We cannot save anyone through clever marketing, selective information, or pressure. Instead, we aim to impact the lives of those we serve by meeting their needs, affirming life, and sharing the love and truth of Jesus. But, it is not us but Oonly God who  changes hearts.

Women Are Searching for Answers

Many women who are considering abortion begin their search online. They are looking for information, answers, and someone they can trust.

If our website does not contain the information they are seeking, many will never find us.

By providing factual, compassionate information about abortion, we ensure that women who are vulnerable, scared, and searching for answers can discover Pathways when they need help most. We do not offer or refer for abortion, we make that clear on the website. Rather we offer abortion information to these women and walk alongside them as they face this difficule, life-changing decision. Empowering her with the information and knowledge that she is seeking, caring for her, and respecting her,, that is what we stand for and that is why we are here.

Once an abortion-vulnerable woman  finds us, we have the opportunity to build a relationship with her, offer practical support, provide life-affirming alternatives, and share the hope found in Jesus Christ.

Transparency Builds Trust

Trust is essential in ministry.

Women facing unexpected pregnancies are often overwhelmed, frightened, and uncertain whom they can believe. If they feel that information is being hidden from them or that someone is trying to manipulate their decision, trust is quickly lost.

We choose transparency because trust opens doors for meaningful conversations and lasting relationships.

Scripture teaches:

“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely.” — Proverbs 10:9

Integrity requires honesty, even when the truth is difficult.

When women know they can receive accurate information without judgment or pressure, they are more likely to return, ask questions, and allow us to walk alongside them through their journey.

We Do Not Coerce

Our goal is never to pressure, shame, or coerce anyone.

Every person who comes to us has God-given dignity and the ability to make decisions for themselves. We believe women deserve accurate information and compassionate care, not manipulation.

By providing complete and truthful information, we avoid even the appearance of coercion and demonstrate respect for those we serve.

Our role is to educate, equip, affirm life, and care.. Each woman is responsible for choosing life for her baby, and the work of conviction belongs to God.

We Choose Facts Over Politics

Women facing pregnancy decisions are usually not looking for political arguments. They are looking for answers. Often, they want to carry their baby to term and be a mother, they just don’t see how they can.

That is why we strive to provide fact-based information and support, rather than political messaging.

Our purpose is not to advance a political agenda. Our purpose is to help people understand their options, receive support, and encounter the love of Christ.

We believe truth is powerful enough to stand on its own.

Kindness Opens Hearts

Many women who contact us are carrying fear, shame, confusion, or deep emotional pain.

The gospel calls us to meet people with grace and compassion.

Scripture reminds us:

“God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance.” — Romans 2:4

Jesus consistently demonstrated compassion toward people who were hurting, struggling, and burdened by sin. He spoke truth without condemnation and offered grace without compromise.

We desire to follow His example.

Our non-judgmental approach is not a compromise of biblical truth. It is an expression of biblical love.

We Love Every Person Who Comes to Us

Jesus commands His followers to love others as He has loved us.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” — John 13:34

Whether someone chooses life, has had a past abortion, is considering abortion, or is simply searching for answers, we believe every person deserves compassion, respect, and care.

We want every woman and every family who encounters Pathways to know they are valued, welcomed, and loved.

The stronger the relationship, the greater the opportunity to offer practical help, speak truth in love, and share the hope of the gospel.
